With the beginning of the 2024 high school football season rapidly approaching, I've decided to put some pre-season lists together regarding talent in the Siouxland area. Let's start with some of my impact players regardless of class. I will continue to build the list out each Monday until camp starts!
PRESENTED BY:
Bishop Heelan DE/LB Junior Kasen Thomas 6-2 (210): Performed very well last fall as a sophomore and had big contributions in the post season as Bishop Heelan played in the Class 3A title game. Thomas racked up (56) tackles and (7.5) sacks and also added (511) all-purpose yards on offense. Thomas has earned scholarship offers from Iowa and Iowa State while drawing interest from several others. Explosive athlete with a very high ceiling. Sure fire D-1 prospect.
Sergeant Bluff-Luton Junior LB Joey Hardy 6-4 (215) Played very well as a sophomore last fall registering (28.5) tackles and (8.5) TFL. Hardy has seen his recruiting pickup over the summer and has drawn interest from D-1 programs South Dakota State, UNI, Iowa State and Iowa. Should really have a breakout junior season in 2024 and deliver 50-60 tackles for the Warriors and be active behind the line of scrimmage. Great future here at the college level.
Sioux City East Senior RB Myles Wegher 5-8 (175): Rushed for (632) yards and (9) scores. Wegher is electric in the open field and dynamic in the pass game where he caught (29) passes for (330) yards and (3) scores last fall. Should have a huge senior season in the Black Raider offense which returns experienced junior starting QB Cal Jepsen. College prospect.
Woodbury Central Senior ATH Zack Butler 6-0 (185): One of my favorite athlete's in the Siouxland area is Butler who rushed for (1,355) and (22) touchdowns last fall. This kid makes plays all over the field and uses his athleticism to electrify the crowd on both sides of the football. Very good leader in a program under head coach Kurt Bremer that has gone (39-7) over the last four seasons.
MOC Floyd-Valley Senior ATH Ahman Langton 6-0 (165): Langton is a skilled WR/Slot that hauled in (36) passes for (696) yards and (5) scores a season ago. Langton has put in a ton of work this off-season in raising his stock through attending several football camps and had offers extended to him. Langton is a great prospect who displays leadership skills and also doubles as a CB on defense. Would be a nice addition to a college roster.
